Nutrition Recommendations

What is Nutrition and Why is it Important?

Nutrition is providing your body with food to support all your life functions. It gives you energy to run, fuel for your brain, makes you strong and keeps you healthy.

Sometimes, because of our busy schedules, it's hard to get proper nutrition. We may not be able to purchase healthy foods at the grocery store, or may not have a chance to pack healthy lunches and snacks before school and work. And very often, we find ourselves tempted by foods that we see on TV and in the vending machines that we know aren't good for us but that are just so tasty!

Some of those foods that are not so healthy can really bring us down. We may feel tired. We may not sleep very well. Running and playing sports may not come as easy anymore. We may find ourselves getting sick more often, missing school and missing hanging out with our friends.

Eating a variety of nutritious foods is sure to help keep you healthy and living a long and happy life.

We invite you to check out the links and use the resources to get you on your way!
